Mary Margaret
Vice-Chairperson
Mary Margaret McGuire, a retired educator, is a graduate of California State University, Northridge and holds BA and MA degrees in English. She has organized community events to achieve a "litter free San Simeon" and hopes to be a resource for community members regarding District issues. Elected to the Board in 2016, she has lived in San Simeon since 2012.

John Russell
Board Member
John Russell completed degrees in Physics and Electrical Engineering. After a brief tour with the U.S. Army, he joined the facility of Washington University in St. Louis and remained with them in the School of Engineering and Applied Science for 33 years. He retired and moved to San Simeon in 2003.

Julia Greenan-Stanert
Board Member
In 2016, Julia Stanert and her husband Stanley moved to San Simeon. Prior to this they were part-time Cambria residents for 10 years. For 35 years, Julia has owned and managed a house and window cleaning referral agency in Southern California. In 2012, she created San Simeon Press. She is the publisher, distributor and author of two popular local interest children's books. Since 2010, Julia has volunteered at Hearst Castle as a living history docent. Working with the dedicated SSCSD Board members to solve San Simeon's future water needs is Julia Greenan-Stanert primary focus as the newest member on the SSCSD Board of Directors.

Gwen Kellas
Board Member
Gwen Kellas was born in Liverpool, England. She moved to New York in 1964, then to Miami and then to Santa Monica, living in several areas of LA, the San Fernando valley, Oxnard and Thousand Oaks, then finally to San Simeon in 2012, which she refers to as her ”piece of paradise and forever home”. She holds a BA in Business Management, a Project Management Masters Certificate and 20 years experience in Project Management Network Engineering and Planning. Gwen volunteers at Pacific Wild Life Care and is a docent at the San Simeon Marine Discovery Center. She is CERT trained. Her goal is to be fully involved with her new community.

Charles Grace
General Manager
Charlie Grace has over twenty years' experience in the Water and Wastewater industry and has been responsible for the general management of multiple Community Services Districts. Mr. Grace has also managed several treatment facilities, utilizing various treatment processes from small package plants to a 16 MGD (million gallons per day) activated sludge facility. In addition to experience with a variety of treatment processes and skill sets, Mr. Grace is well versed in the operation of state certified laboratories, collection, and distribution systems. Mr. Grace holds a Jurist Doctorate from the Southern California Institute of Law; a B.A. in Organizational Management from the University of Laverne, California; and a Certificate in Water and Wastewater Science from Ventura College, California.

Renee Osborne
Administrator/Grant Writer
Renee Osborne has over 10 years’ experience in Community Services District policies and management. Renee has secured over $4.6 million dollars in grants for the San Simeon Community Services District. She holds an Associates in Business Administration from Mt. San Jacinto College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science with a concentration in Organizational Behavior from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. She has received certificates from the California Special District Association in: Grant Writing, Clerk Training, Financial Cost Control, and Administration. Renee also had training from Cal EMA in Crisis Communication and is a CERT (Community Emergency Response Training) trained volunteer. She has been with the San Simeon Community Services District since 2007.

Cortney Murguia
Office Manager
Cortney Murguia has lived in San Luis Obispo County since 2006. Her background includes public utility billing, land use, and water conservation. She is currently obtaining her Bachelor's degree in Public Administration. In her off hours, she enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and their dogs.

Jerry Copeland
Superintendent
Jerry Copeland started his career as a licensed plumber in 1984. In 1997 he obtained his Wastewater Certification through the State of California. In 2009 Jerry obtained his Grade 3 Wastewater license and his Grade 1 in Water Distribution. He began working in San Simeon in 2006.

Jonathon Weise
Operator
Jonathon Weise began his employment with Grace Environmental services in 2015, working in the community of San Simeon. Currently, he holds his Grade 2 in Wastewater Treatment, Drinking Water Distribution, and Drinking Water Treatment. He enjoys working for Grace Environmental Services and looks forward to many more years of serving the community with his hard work and dedication.
