Built in 1875 this park and wildlife habitat features a historic lighthouse and striking rocky landscape. Access to the lighthouse is by guided tour only. No reservations needed. If your group is larger than 10 persons please call ahead. Tours last about two hours. Tours end at the lighthouse, but you cannot walk to the top due to safety concerns.

William Randolph Hearst built a fabulous estate overlooking San Simeon in 1919. He called the estate "La Cuesta Encantada," Spanish for The Enchanted Hill. By 1947, the estate included a twin-towered main building, three guesthouses, and 127 acres of terraced gardens, fountains, and pools. Discover why this estate is now a National and California Landmark. Visitors can reserve tickets up to 56 days in advance online. Self-guided tours are only allowed in the Gardens, Neptune Pool and Roman Pool.

The San Simeon Creek Campground offers 115 campsites for tent camping or recreational vehicles. The maximum length for a RV is 35 feet. Each campsite has a fire ring and picnic table. There are currently no flush toilets or shower facilities in place. Chemical toilets are available. The dump station is currently open but is subject to closure as well. Pay phones are available. Firewood is for sale from the campground host.
Campground reservations can be made year round by calling 1-800-444-PARK. From May 27 through September 2, all campsites are available by reservation. From September 3 through May 26, 50% of campground site are available by reservation and 50% are available on first come first served basis.

The center offers interactive exhibits, education programs, and self-guided tours which highlight the natural history of San Simeon and Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. Visitors can learn about local conservation efforts, and their role in protecting this amazing place for generations to come. Reservations are required for guided programs only. Fees vary by program, but normally range from $0-5 dollars per person.

Friends of the Elephant Seal is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating people about elephant seals and other marine life and teaching stewardship for the ocean off the central coast of California. Visitor’s center and gift shop located in town next to the Chamber of Commerce.

Located 2.7 Miles North from Moonstone Beach, just before the San Simeon population sign. Unpaved parking is located on the mountain side of HWY 1. Heart Ranch Zebras can be seen periodically grazing near cattle. Please observe the private property signs and fencing. Photographers should bring a long range lens for best results.

San Simeon allows for beach access at both our Pico Avenue location and our Vista Del Mar location. Both of these areas offer free parking.
Day parking is permitted free of charge from 6:00 am to 10:00 p.m. in San Simeon.
Persons wishing to park after hours on our streets need to please obtain a parking permit. Please see below to process this request.
San Simeon Community Services District Ordinance reads in part that “Recreational vehicles, semi-trailers, and commercial trucks shall not be parked or left standing upon any street, highway, or public area within this District unless a permit has been issued. The purpose of a parking permit is to allow residents, businesses and out of town visitors the ability to park outside of their acquaintances residence or establishment for a limited time-period.
